Introduction

Tagtory ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

The short version: Your data stays on your device. We don't have servers, we don't collect your data, and we don't track you.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All data you create in Tagtory is stored locally on your device:

  • Item names, descriptions, and notes
  • Photos you attach to items
  • Groups and organizational categories
  • NFC tag registrations and associations
  • Location data when you scan NFC tags (if you grant permission)

We do not have access to this data. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up to iCloud or share with another device.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to:

  • Your personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Your location history
  • Your photos or item data
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Advertising identifiers

iCloud Backup (Pro Feature)

If you subscribe to Tagtory Pro and use the iCloud backup feature:

  • Your data is backed up to your personal iCloud account
  • This data is protected by Apple's security and privacy measures
  • We do not have access to your iCloud data
  • Backups are initiated manually by you, not automatically

Peer-to-Peer Sharing

When you share items with nearby devices:

  • Data is transferred directly between devices over local WiFi
  • No data passes through our servers (we don't have any)
  • The transfer only occurs when you explicitly initiate sharing

NFC Tags

When you register NFC tags:

  • Only a unique identifier token is written to the physical tag
  • Your actual item data (names, photos, notes) is NOT stored on the tag
  • If someone else scans your tag, they will not see your information

In-App Purchases

Tagtory Pro subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information.

Location Data

If you grant location permission, Tagtory may capture your location when scanning NFC tags to help you remember where items are located. This location data:

  • Is stored only on your device
  • Is never sent to us or any third party
  • Can be deleted by deleting the associated item

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.

Children's Privacy

Tagtory does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information from any users, this policy applies to all users equally.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
